What To Expect
My Deep Stretch yoga classes are inspired by Yin yoga, Iyengar yoga and functional movement. A space to slow right down and sink into juicy, long holds, building both strength and flexibility. Closing with a luxurious Shavasana and a guided meditation. Yin yoga practice is soft, slow and meditative. Allowing gravity to gently guide the body down into poses, with a focus on stillness and breath. Iyengar yoga poses are also held for longer periods of time, but focus on keeping muscles activated to hold alignment, building strength and flexibility. Functional movement is based on real-world situational biomechanics. Rather than trying to bend ourselves into fancy pretzels, we will focus on building a range of mobility useful for living life. Open to all levels. A very accessible practice, with lots of different options throughout and the use of props encouraged.
