Embrace the depths of winter and join our day retreat at The Yoga Garden. Nestled in the heart of the Sussex countryside - only an hour from South West London - you don't have to travel far but it feels a world away from the city. The Knepp Rewilding Project has given the land back to nature and this haven is now home to abundant wildlife and rare species. Late January is the perfect time to take a day just for you, the retreat will allow you to unplug, replenish you energy levels and set intentions for the year ahead.

Yoga will take place in hand crafted yurts, with a wood burning stove to keep us cozy. After a welcome tea, morning pages and setting intentions for the day we will flow through a dynamic hatha vinyasa flow practice, followed by breathwork and meditation. At lunchtime we will share a delicious plant-based hot meal and dessert! You can then choose to stay curled up by the fire or to wrap up warm and take a guided walk around the stunning local countryside. As it starts to get dark we will return to our yurt for candlelit yin yoga, guided yoga nidra relaxation and head massage. We will close our day with guided jornalling to set positive intentions for the year ahead.


This intimate day retreat (12 people max) is open to all levels, and is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your practice in a small group environment.

10:45 | Welcome tea

Settle in, enjoy a Pukka herbal tea and meet the group.


11:00 | Morning pages and intention setting

A powerful practice for boosting creativity, productivity, and mental well-being. Write freely to clear your mind, stimulate new ideas, and enhance self-awareness. This ritual can be a form of meditation, providing mental clarity and emotional balance for the day ahead.


11:15 | Morning hatha vinyasa yoga

Our creative sequence will focus on strengthening the arms and core while opening the hips and hamstrings. Starting slow, the pace will gradually build as we move playfully through our practice.


12:30 | Meditation and breathwork

Group discussion will help deepen your understanding of meditation and breathwork. Guided breathwork and self lead meditation will give your the opportunity to put your learnings into practice.


13:00 | Lunch

Nourishing and comforting plant based lunch and dessert.

14:00 | Walk or rest

Join our guided walk in the heart of the Knepp Rewilding Project, or relax by the fire with a cup of tea, reading, journalling, or snoozing!

15:30 | Afternoon yoga: Candlelit yin yoga

As it gets dark outside we will light the candles, wrap up warm and sink into the magical world of Yin. The series of floor based poses will invite gravity to gently guide you deep into your connective tissue and fascia, unravelling hidden areas of tension. Hands on assists and massage, will be offered throughout to help you relax.

16:45 | The ultimate shavasana

Calming breathwork, guided relaxation, yoga nidra and head massage with Neil's Yard Bee Lovely Lotion.

17:15 | Guided journalling

Our day will close with guided journaling to set positive intentions for the year ahead.


17:30 | End of retreat

*All yoga equipment provided if needed (eco friendly mats, bolsters, blankets, belts and cork blocks)

Train | Nearest station Horsham (20 min taxi can be pre booked)

Accommodation | If you fancy making a weekend of it The Crown Inn has nice rooms and excellent food. There are also lots of Air BnB’s close by.
